The primary purpose of this blog is to share my motorcyle trips and other items of interest regarding motorcycling.
This was the best day so far this year for a good cold weather ride. Thermometers read 16F as I rode to Poet's for a good warm latte. I ran a few errands around town for a couple hours before heading home to warm the fingers and toes a bit. I didn't see any other motorcycles out today, except, of couse, Heath's.

First day of 2008; first ride of 2008. Great way to start a new year. Nice cool temp of 32F and spitting a light snow. No pics, but nice ride up through back roads to the north of town. Spent the rest of the day with Heath, Lisa, Rain, and Sage; watching football games; go Big Orange!! Now Betty and I are alone, watching Biggest Loser, and exercising during each of the commercials --- push ups, running up and down the steps, stretching, etc. Nothing like a little incentive watching the Biggest Loser!

I bought my first motorcycle when I was 15 years old. That was 49 years ago. Although I have not had a motorcycle all of those 49 years, it has never been far from my mind. My addiction to motorcycling can only be understood by those who share the same passion. To others, it is just a frivolous, expensive hobby. I love the feeling of freedom that comes with riding; the closeness to nature that comes with riding in the open air; the feel and sound of a well designed and built machine going through its paces. I particularly enjoy riding with my two sons, Heath and Ryon, although we don't get a chance to get together as often as I would like. Since I am retired, I have a bit more time to ride than they do, so many of my trips are solo.
