First Day of Lake Superior Trip

FINALLY, the day is here. After over 12 months of planning this trip, today I leave. I made some last minute adjustments to reduce the daily milage in the first few day. I stop in Owensboro, Ky, tonight and visit with my niece and her family. AND a good bed and shower before doing the camping scene. Great day of weather today, just a little on the warm side, but a couple of showers cooled things off nicely. Fortunately, the showers were over by the time I got to the area, so I stayed dry.


Here you see me all packed up and ready to leave. Bob decided to ride along with me as far as Gallatin, TN, where he had some jobs to do.
