Cookeville Rescue Mission Benefit Ride
I can't believe I finally have something to add to my riding blog. I haven't had much in the way of riding news for a while. But today was the first annual benefit ride for the Cookeville Rescue Mission. I thought, what better way to get back in the saddle than to help out this worthy cause. I was up and out by 7:00 to get gased up and ready to ride. We had sausage biscuits and coffee waiting for us after registration at 7:30. The morning started off cool. The bank thermometer read 37 as a passed by on my way. It really didnt feel that cool, but then, I was dressed for it. After breakfast, we headed out about 9:00. I think we started with about 18 bikes. But the sun began to warm us up soon. From Cookeville we traveled to Sparta; took Hiway 70 from there to Crossville, hitting 127 there and on to Jamestown. From Jamestown we turned toward Livingston and then back again to Cookeville where some of the lady riders had graciously stayed behind and cooked some burgers for lunch. Total travel time was about 4 hours including three stops of several minutes each. This was actually my first group ride. I am more of a solo rider. But I really enjoyed it. I met some new friends and
had a great time.

Great blog. I'm glad you added the Benefit Ride... hope to see you again real soon. Hopefully, I will ride the next time, since it's warming up.
