1500+ Miles

I have logged over 1500 miles so far, still about 2000 to go!!!

I have traveled over 500 miles in the UP, and was about to get depressed since I had not seen a deer or a bear, just some wild turkey and some Canadian geese. But, alas, little bambi started out in the road this afternoon, saw me, and turned back. So there ARE some deer up here. Now where are the bears???

I stopped at a little coffee shop before leaving Munising this morning; run by Nanci and Charlotte. Neat little place with a bookstore and all. But they had an interesting wall. I noticed cups hanging on the walls with names. I asked. There are our regular customers who have bought a cup and keep it here. Interesting. Must be all of the adults in that little village.

Further on down the road. I don't know if it is the end or the beginning....it was the end for me, but the sign says it is the beginning of US Route 41. Maybe you can read the signs.

Of course, one more shot of Lake Superior. (There WILL be more!) That's another lighthouse on the point. This is the tip of the Keweenaw peninsula, far out into the lake. Read some facts on Lake Superior; it will amaze you. I won't put them here.
